Out of hours service
Here at Summerleaze we ensure that we can provide an emergency service 24/7 either with our core vets or our colleagues from Equicall. No matter what day or time you call you can expect from us an experienced equine veterinarian. We also have the support and back up of numerous referral centres ensuring your horse receives gold standard care, no matter what time they may be of need of it. The ability to provide this service does require additional cost to run so our out of hours fees are reflective of this.
Emergencies during the day are charged at the same rate as routine calls. Our current out of hours visit charge between 5pm-8am is £174.60 with a £50 surcharge between 10pm and 6am. Bank holidays are also charged at £174.60 with the additional £50.
If you have a problem during office hours, please telephone the practice immediately and we will ensure that you are offered an appointment on a priority basis. Please make it clear that the matter is not routine, and we will do our utmost to attend to you at the earliest opportunity.
For emergencies during the evening and weekend ring the office number and your call will be answered by Kernow Vets messaging, a dedicated veterinary answering service. They will pass all your information to our duty vet who will give you a telephone call from their car once they are on the way to visit you.
